My Father was Charles Calveard, Mother was May

Charles, my father, and his brother John owned and operated the first record and music shop in Louisville, KY. Father loved to attend plays at Macauley's Theatre. Promoters would ask Charles and John to show a poster advertising a play at a prominent location in their shop. Father would agree, provided that he be allowed to keep the poster for his private collection at the end of play run. I, Nancy Bowie, inherited the collection. Let me show you images of a few of the posters.

John Drew, Jr., shown above, is mentioned in the book "The Barrymores", Hollis Alpert, The Dial Press, New York, 1964. He was an uncle of the three famous actors: Ethel, Lionel, and John Barrymore.
